Hello...

It’s been a while since my last proper update to you and for some good reasons. 

Taking time out in nature to recalibrate...

This year has been a tough one for me, with curveballs and challenges to overcome. But I’m sure I’m not alone there.  We are living in such an uncertain world, having to adjust to a new normal where everything we thought we knew seems to be wrong. Those in charge favouring power and money, over people and good of the planet. Where it has become common place to distract, fake-news passed as truth, common decency and humanity ignored. Add to this a large dose of corporate burnout, and let’s just say I needed to take a step back and recalibrate.

I’m happy to report it did me the power of good to rest, reassess and contemplate what comes next for me. There was little to no painting done during this time, I tried, but my mind wasn’t truly in the game and it showed on the canvas. But thankfully with the support of my family and friends, I’ve slowly returned, with a renewed enthusiasm and energy for the next chapter. Let’s just say, my 2026 is looking wide open and that’s both exciting and a little daunting in equal measure.

Anyway, back to 2025 and my painting… 

Getting back to the easel...

I think the time away from the easel was beneficial! I’ve come back more inspired than ever, with several new pieces on the go, experimenting and being braver with colour. No radical departures that said, I’m still ‘still-life’ inspired (I can just hear my English teacher saying ‘’you can’t use 'still' twice in one sentence’’, except I think I’ve actually put three in there Mr Jackson)! 

So with this new work in mind, I'm thrilled to reveal I will be back exhibiting at Art Source RDS in Dublin, from the 14^th to 16^th of November. I’ll be in the same spot as last year, the upper balcony, as I feel the space their suited my work. I’m so excited to exhibiting at Art Source again, not only as the interactions, feedback and conversations were beyond my wildest expectation last year. But also to catch up with and see new works from the artists I love and admire, as well as hopefully getting to meet new ones.

Before the public opening day of the show on the Friday 14th November, there is a special VIP preview evening from 5pm-9pm on the Thursday November 13^th . This is an invitation only event and I have free tickets available to my subscribers who’d love the opportunity of a first look. You get to escape the crowds of the show days, with the bonus of a glass of wine in hand! So, if you’d love to make the list, simply drop me an email to artistgmd@gmail.com and let me know how many you would like. Tickets are limited and on a first come first served basis, so get in quickly!

Fear not, if you can’t make the VIP event, I will also have free weekend passes. If you would prefer hard copy tickets, simply email artistgmd@gmail.com with your postal address. I hope to see as many of you there as possible, your continued support means the world to me. Getting to see some of my paintings and prints you bought last year hung in your homes never ceases to thrill and amaze me. Oh, and watch this space for another giveaway in the run up to the show.

In the meantime, I’m beavering away behind the scenes on the preparations, including work on updating my website, adding some new features to it, including the option to buy direct from the site. So let’s just say, I’m being kept busy.
